BIOGRAPHY
- Manager of Marshall’s Community Volunteer Program after 17 years with AARP
- Moved to El Dorado County from Sacramento over seven years ago for a better quality of life and to work with people in the community to make a difference.
- Organized Make a Difference Coalition, a volunteer network of all non-profits that use volunteers in El Dorado County.
- Received El Dorado County Chamber of Commerce Community Service Award for doing so.
- Community activities include Soroptimist Int’l of Placerville; CASA for abused and neglected children; Affordable Housing Coalition of El Dorado County; Big Brothers/Big Sisters of El Dorado County, Hands On El Dorado, Shenandoah High School Advisory Board and Directors of Volunteers in Agencies (DOVIA).
GOALS
- Retain the rural nature of El Dorado County while managing “smart” growth
- Develop a plan for future development – Growth Without Sprawl!
- Utilize public, private and volunteer resources to provide for public safety
- Bring efficiency to spending of tax dollars
- Work with others to develop alternate revenue streams (e.g. grants, projects)
- Make county government more accessible
- o Streamline county processes
o Use technology to provide information to public about county processes/activities
o Have periodic evening meetings for working people to attend
